Coverage is a process, not a slogan
“Has a warranty” does not answer who receives the claim, which parts and period apply, what evidence is required, who performs diagnosis, or who pays transportation. Obtain the written model-specific terms before purchase and keep proof of purchase, VIN, photos, assembly/PDI records and maintenance history.
Why professional preparation matters
A documented preparation process creates a baseline. Controls, fasteners, wheels, brakes, tires, battery seating, charger match and a function check can be reviewed before handoff. That does not guarantee a defect-free bike, but it reduces uncertainty about initial setup and provides better evidence later.
Before modifying
Record the stock condition, read the written warranty, keep original parts, use compatible components and document who performed the work. If a fault appears, stop adding modifications until the problem is diagnosed. Be candid about crashes, water exposure, wiring changes and service history.
